Estos gatos tienen el cuello largo y un cuerpo estilizado. Cualquier patr\u00f3n o color que se salga de estas caracter\u00edsticas no est\u00e1 reconocido como un gato Nebelung. Sin embargo, el patr\u00f3n del pelaje no puede determinarse hasta los dos a\u00f1os, puesto que el gato Nebelung beb\u00e9 puede tener un leve patr\u00f3n que va desapareciendo. Las puntas de sus cabellos suelen ser de un tono plateado. La capa de pelo es m\u00e1s gruesa y larga alrededor del cuello, caracter\u00edstica que es m\u00e1s notable en los machos que en las hembras.
